The Grate Grill Scraper

The Grate Grill Scraper is a line of BBQ grill cleaners that remove burnt-on food quickly and easily. They were designed to eliminate the hazards associated with BBQ grilling

Most people are not even aware of these hazards ...

Outdoor Grilling Hazards

From 2002 to 2014, an estimated 1,698 emergency room visits were caused by wire barbecue cleaning brushes. That is one person injured by barbecue brushes every 3 days!

You see, tiny wire bristles can break off the wire brush and stick to the grill grate. When the meat is cooked, these bristles stick to the meat and are eaten by the unsuspecting victim.

These wire bristles can then be embedded in the victims body anywhere - their mouth, throat, stomach or intestines. This leads to pain and a trip to the ER!

Sometimes the solution is simple, the doctor uses tweezers (forceps) to remove the wire from the patients mouth. However, sometimes it is a lot more complicated.

When the wire travels all the way to the intestines, it can actually migrate through the wall of the intestine into other organs! This can lead to a serious infection, massive pain and surgery to locate the tiny wire.

The Solution

There is a simple solution to this danger - STOP USING your wire BBQ cleaning brush!

There are many other ways to clean your grill grates:

  1. Ball of aluminum foil
  2. Pumice stone
  3. Steel wool
  4. Scouring pad

However, these methods are labor intensive and cause you to get filthy in the process. They can also leave behind particles that are unhealthy to eat.

What is the solution? It's The Grate Grill Scraper!

Our one-piece grill scraper cleans your grill quickly and easily without getting you dirty or leaving behind any dangerous wires.

There are two styles to choose from: standard and universal.  Each style is available in two materials: brass and stainless steel.  This give a total of four models to choose from.

The two standard models have 4 notches to fit most standard grills:

  1. 3 notches for round grates from 1/16" to 3/8" diameter
  2. 1 notch for V-shaped grates.

The two universal models have 13 notches to fit a wider variety of grills:

  1. 6 notches for round grates from 1/32" to 1" diameter
  2. 5 notches for V-shaped grates
  3. 3 notches for park and campground grates (fits grills in most state parks, national parks, and campgrounds).
  4. Grill pan cleaner
  5. Griddle cleaner
  6. Bottle opener

The next option is deciding on the material - brass or stainless steel.

What's the advantage of Brass vs. Stainless Steel?

The brass versions of The Grate Grill Scraper are specifically designed for use on Teflon and Porcelain-coated grill grates. Brass is softer than stainless so it will not scratch the surfaces of these coated grill grates.

The stainless steel versions of The Grate Grill Scraper are designed for use on chrome plated, stainless steel, cast iron or any old, rusty, crusty grill grates. Stainless steel is extremely durable so it will take years of abuse - outlasting brass, aluminum, and wooden grill scrapers.

What if you don't know what style of grates you have? The rule of thumb is to buy brass if your grill grate is black and to buy stainless steel if your grill grate is gray, silver or rusty.

One deviation from this rule of thumb is that cast iron grates are occasionally black. Cast iron is easy to distinguish as it has a rough, textured finish and most other grates have a smooth finish. Cast iron grates require the stainless steel version of The Grate Grill Scraper.
